Website help...

Ok Ladies, my goal is to get my website up and running hopefully before Mother's Day. Haha. I just need to get it done! It's not complete at all! I am going to buy a website as I am not doing too well with my own. It's from bludomain.com and I've narrowed it down to 3.

They are fully editable flash sites - which is what I want to do, but I'm not so clever at flash... just the basics.

So - hopefully you can all help me decide on which one:

First one is called "Emma"

Second is called "Betsey" (click on flash)

Third is called "Sadie"

I think I like Betsey, but then again, I keep changing my mind. And here's the site where there are $100 sites - that's the price range I'm looking at anyways. They have all the way up to $400 and $800 - not for me! :) So, if you want, you can click through the $100 sites and tell me if you like one of those better.

I can change all the coloring and put my own designs and photos in the different slots. I can also put my own songs on the soundtrack. It's fully customizable except for the fonts - which I have to say up front which one I want.

So what do you think? Let me know which one is your fav!

Nothing to do but the Weather...

Well,
It's been another one of those weeks that have become constant in my life these days. That's a whole 'nother post.

But, tonight I had to move my car across the street from work - into covered parking - because supposedly there's hail coming. I believed them because #1. I work at KVUE - you know a "tv" station where there's weather all the time :) and #2. there was a tornado in Belton, TX - that's right. It was right by UMHB and the Belton walmart. There was supposedly 5 tornadoes that touched down and LOTS of hailing - up to softball sized hail.

Thankfully - everyone's ok!

Well, thought ya'll might like to know that there's nothing here but the weather.

Larry Hagerman

Larry's Funeral was this morning and it was an emotional and very spiritual time for everyone in our church. Please be praying for Ashley and Weston. They - right now - are solid rocks and I'm amazed at their faith and amazed that, being so young, they have so much trust in our Lord. Thank you Lord for that example and for being able to hold them up this weekend. I pray that You would continue to hold them in your arms.

Larry's sister is selling her house in Dallas and moving down to Pflugerville to live with the kids. Pray for that situation. They are trying to keep anything and everything as stable as possible for these kids. Being around their friends and being at the same school and church will be great for them.

The Hagerman Family

I don't even know where to start.

Girls... I ask that you pray for the Hagerman family - even though I know you don't know them personally, but this year is unthinkable to me. I am in confusion over this and I ask that you PRAY!

Some of you might have seen my facebook status - "Brittney is asking you to pray for a man named Larry - from my church!" Well this is what's been going on.

Last August the Hagerman family was going on vacation. Larry, his wife DaNetta, daughter Ashley and son Wes. This family is so involved in our church and teach sunday school in the youth group. Not even a couple of miles from where they live. A truck pulled out in front of them to turn left from the right lane, and Larry swerved to miss him and ended up slamming into a concrete wall under a bridge and into a ditch. Thankfully Larry only had some bumps and bruises and Ashley and Wes were totally fine, but DaNetta sadly did not make it. It just broke my heart to see this beautiful woman of God being taken, although she is definitely in a better place. It just didn't make sense for this young family. Ashley is about 12-13 years old and Wes is probably 10. Our church family covered them with all the love that they could probably handle and then some. A family was taking Larry out just to get out and asked why didn't you "press charges" (even though he didn't know anything about the truck except it was Green and it was a Dodge.) The truck never stopped, and police were looking into finding him and Larry didn't want that. The family asked Larry why and he said "because I know that God meant for this to happen and I'm at peace with it" - my response WOW! wouldn't you want to punish that person which had taken your wife? Amazing... I have no words for this man. He CONTINUALLY led his children and CONTINUALLY came to church with amazing faith and trust in our Lord. It gives me chills, because I don't know if I could've been that strong... I know I want to be, but I am not. This man is a man of God no doubt. (the article about DaNetta is here)

Well, yesterday... Larry was involved in an accident on his job site. He either is a pilot or used to be or just works on planes - that I'm not sure of... but he was working on a plane yesterday and a co-worker accidentally pushed a button (or however it works) and a pressurized door flung open hard and hit Larry on the head causing him to black out. He was rushed to the hospital by starflight and had crushed his skull on one side and broken his back. The church sends out emails when things like this happen and were updating us throughout the day, the ministers went to the hospital. The second email stated that he was on life support. I was calling my family to see if they had heard anything else. Last night they stated that he had no brain activity and that he was still on life support, and that they didn't know if he'd make it through the night. Then when I came home from work, my mom said that there's been no change in Larry and the doctors did not want to give up on him and are giving him 72 hours and then they'd see what to do next.

My mom just called me and said that Larry passed away this morning at 4am.

Speechless....

I don't even know what to think or what to do. All I keep thinking about are Ashley and Wes, whose mother AND father were taken from them all in less than one year. I sit here and don't even have words. I don't know what they must be thinking or feeling.

Trying to think of why is about the only thing I can do right now. I'm stunned...

God - you must have something AMAZING in store for these 2 young kids. Lord, that their lives would reflect YOU no matter how hard this tragedy has been. Lord, that they can run to You with open arms and that you would catch them. Lord, they've had the precious time with their parents here on earth and YOU are their father. Lord I know you have these 2 little children in your hands right now and all I can say is hold tight to them!

I know that Ashley and Wes are hurting right now, along with our church family. Would you please keep those 2 lives in your thoughts and prayers. Pray that they can have that breakdown if they need to and not feel ashamed. They WILL see these parents in heaven, no doubt about it, and it will be a JOYFUL reunion.

***Larry's sister lives in Dallas and as of right now, I think that she is going to move here to Austin and live with Ashley and Wes and take care of them. Please pray for this WHOLE situation!***

A Summer in Austin

Ok, so it's been a while and I still need to put up some pics of my neighbor's senior portraits. They are done, just not up... :(

Some other news, which you may get from the title, is some really big news. Derik got an internship in Dallas, TX - which would make you think he's working in Dallas. Well, this week I got a surprise - it went something like this.

Derik: "well, I have a big praise to tell you..."

Me: "What?"

Derik: "Well, I was talking to a girl in my class (Tara) and she's going to be interning with Balfour Beatty (the Dallas company, the same company Derik will be working for) as well..."

Me: "ok"

Derik: "Well, she asked me if I had received my project yet - where I'd be working... and I haven't... so, she goes on to tell me that they gave her a choice between working in Austin and Dallas... and Tara said she chose Austin."

Me: "They have projects in Austin?"

Derik: "yea, that's what i thought, so I called Haley (Dallas girl) and asked her if Tara wouldn't mind, if I could switch with her..."

Me: "yea......."

Derik: "so, I begged Tara, and she said yes... so it looks like I'll be in Austin this summer..."

Me: (still confused) "uh huh"

I didn't believe him and I was kind of at a loss of words as to what was actually going on. You see I had already wrapped my head around "ok, Derik's going to be in Dallas... it's only like 3 months... it'll be closer... we can visit each other more often... etc." So, now that it's sunk in, I'm really excited. AND Derik is REALLY excited which makes it even more fun.

This is something that seemed totally out of the blue, but Derik will be in Austin this summer!

His project is AWESOME! It's been all over the news... because you see... Austin has some big buildings, but nothing like Dallas or Houston. But he will be working on a condominium project called THE AUSTONIAN - it's going to be 50+ stories tall - which will make it THE BIGGEST BUILDING IN DOWNTOWN AUSTIN - AND IT WILL BE THE TALLEST RESIDENTIAL BUILDING OUTSIDE OF HOUSTON AND DALLAS. Sorry but those words needed capital letters... it's so cool.

I've had to make graphics for it at work, so I knew a lot about it!

We even drove downtown to see it and it's so cool - even though it is only like 2 stories completed.

Derik won't know if this is a project that he can continue with after graduation in December, but he's excited regardless... and so am I.

If you'll be praying for his internship and the work that may follow after graduation, we'd both appreciate it so much. It's amazing to see how much peace Derik has gotten from this. And, even when I was ok with Dallas this summer - I knew Derik wasn't, and God provided a way for Derik to be home and save money... God is so good!

Love you all!
